Troy Polamalu on Visiting Pittsburgh for Charitable Pursuits and Getting to Know the New Steelers

Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu returned to Pittsburgh with his wife Theodora for a pair of community and charity events this week.

The Polamalus hosted the Resilience Bowl for underserved communities at Acrisure Stadium on Tuesday, bringing a number of Polamalu’s former Steelers teammates and coaches back to town for the celebrity flag football game. On Wednesday, the Polamalus were back at Acrisure Stadium, talking part in the SteelHERS community event for female fans.

Steelers Now caught up with Troy Polamalu to talk about his trip to Pittsburgh, the transition as a former player becoming an ambassador for the team, and connecting to a new generation of Steelers players. Plus, Polamalu discussed the big news of the day, with Pittsburgh being award the bid to host the 2026 NFL Draft.

“I believe it’s excellent. Of course, the Steelers are one thing, but football in this place is bigger than the Pittsburgh Steelers, Polamalu remarked. “You have a tonne of players that aren’t in the Hall of Fame, like Dan Marino, Darrelle Revis, Ty Law, and many more Hall of Famers. Many of these athletes come from this neighbourhood. Therefore, I believe it’s a celebration of Western Pennsylvania football and, more importantly, I think it’s a fantastic thing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
