For their opening Champions League match of the year against Bayern Munich, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has selected a 21-man roster.

Harry Maguire, a former captain, is not participating because of an injury.

 

Raphael Varane, Ten Hag’s first-choice center defender, will also be absent for the contest.

 

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia are all on the injured list.

Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, Andre Onana, and Radek Vitek are the goalkeepers.

 

Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Jonny Evans, Sergio Reguilon, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof.

Midfielders: Casemiro, Scott McTominay, Dan Gore, Hannibal, Christian Eriksen, Facundo Pellistri.
