François Plateau claims that Mohamed Salah has made a significant choice that will affect his future. The attacker, 31, who has been connected to a transfer to the Saudi Pro League since the summer, has chosen to stay longer at Liverpool.

Salah left AS Roma in the summer of 2017 to join Liverpool, following a successful tenure there. He struggled to make an impact at Chelsea, but with Roma, he found new life and was able to return to the Premier League.

Ever since making his way back to the English premier league, the Egypt international has only grown stronger. As Liverpool’s offensive captain under Jurgen Klopp, he has contributed to every major championship the team has been able to win.

Throughout the summer transfer window, there were rumors that the former Roma winger will join the Saudi Pro League. Even though Liverpool received offers for his services, they chose to turn down the large sums of money from the Middle East because Klopp still views the 31-year-old as an essential component of his plans.

Even if Liverpool was able to cling onto their star during the summer, there may still be interest, according to sources. The Merseyside side team had previously stated that they would not discuss his winter exit. Middle Eastern teams wanted to sign him the next summer as a result.

However, they are about to suffer a severe setback because the 31-year-old plans to remain on at Liverpool for an extended period of time. It would have been considerably simpler for the Merseyside club to recruit him if he had only had 12 months remaining on his contract next summer, as his present term expires in the winter of 2025.

That won’t be the case, though, since the player wishes to sign a new contract. He desires to sign a fresh one-year contract. The 31-year-old has already expressed his desire to Liverpool.

The Merseyside club attempted to extend his stay in the back, but the Egyptian chose to put things on pause because the terms didn’t work in his favor. As both parties search for a solution, the negotiations over the one-year extension are anticipated to occur at the end of the season.

  1. As regards to Salah wanting to stay for another year after his current contract expires in 2025 that’s great news it would mean he’s going to stay until Klopp leaves. At present which is summer 2026, Personally I’d get the contract signed now and keep Salah happy .
Who knows what Salah can achieve in the remaining time he is with Liverpool maybe he can go on to be the top goal scorer in the Premier League beating Alan Shearers record . YNWA
