Although the starting lineup for Jurgen Klopp’s team was only 22 and a half years old on average, the Reds were unable to exert themselves to the same extent as USG. Despite this, the Reds needed nothing from the game.

After momentarily tying the score in the first half with his first club goal, Jarell Quansah cemented his place in history; however, USG quickly responded with a second goal.

Liverpool failed to produce a second equalizer in the second half, despite substituting players such Joe Gomez, Darwin Nunez, and Ryan Gravenberch; instead, VAR overturned a third USG goal.

USG qualified for the Europa Conference League play-offs in February after finishing third in the group.
