Ahead of Liverpool’s match, Jurgen Klopp refers to the Fulham player as “one of the greatest the Premier League has ever seen.”

When the Reds play the Cottagers at Anfield on Sunday, they have the opportunity to take the top spot in the standings.

Liverpool, who have only lost twice in 20 games this season across all competitions, should easily defeat Fulham, who are currently ranked 14th in the standings and have only won once in their previous five league games.

Furthermore, in the top tier, only Luton, Sheffield United, and Burnley have scored fewer goals than Marco Silva’s team.

Klopp, however, is not one to take anything for granted and was eager to showcase the attacking prowess of the opponent, saving particularly high praise for their seasoned winger.

“We need to make sure we prepare for that properly because they have really creative set pieces,” the Reds manager stated at Friday’s pre-game press conference.

“Marco is an excellent manager who is performing admirably in a competitive league; I’m not suggesting they are overachieving, but they are performing exceptionally well, and they have a very talented football team.”

With [Raul] Jimenez leading the way, [Carlos] Vinicius, and [Andreas] Pereira behind them, one of the best, the diminutive, curly one [Willian], one of the finest the Premier League has ever seen, continuing to go on and on.

We’ve had our challenges there, but overall, it’s a great football team that is well-run, which makes it unique. They can also create a nice atmosphere in their small stadium.

However, this time it’s at Anfield, which is their home, so we need to make sure it will be very challenging for them.

Willian is still producing at the age of 35, having contributed to 14 goals since joining Fulham the previous campaign.

The former Brazil international is most remembered for his seven-year tenure at Chelsea, where he won two league titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Europa League in addition to 43 assists and 46 goals in 298 Premier League games.

Even though he is unquestionably a Premier League hero, it could be a stretch to place him in the same class as the best wingers in the league.
